ECOSOC forum: PM to deliver opening statement on Financing for Development today
Prime Minister Imran Khan will address people at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC ) Forum on Financing for Development today (Monday).
As per the details, the premier will call on the international community to take bold and urgent decisions to respond to the challenges posed by the pandemic crisis, achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, and climate solutions.
The event will be held virtually and will take four days. It will be held under Pakistan’s Presidency of ECOSOC.
According to details the purpose of organizing the event is to mobilize appropriate financial support to enable the developing nations to recover from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. The objective is to achieve sustainable development goals and climate purposes as well.
Ten heads of state and 50 Ministers will take part in the special segment. PM Khan will inaugurate the segment.
Six panel discussions regarding the themes of resilient recovery, recurrent debt crises, pandemic responses, and climate change will be held.
Pakistan’s investment opportunities and projects will be virtually introduced by foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
