Inquiry against me should not be done over specific phone call, Jahangir Tareen
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen on Saturday said that inquiry should be done against him but not over a specific phone call.
Addressing media on Saturday, he alleged the investigation team of being controversial.
Tareen said that he will appear before courts whenever he is summoned and vowed never to escape the law.
Raja Riaz Ahmed and Nauman Ahmad Langrial were also present on the occasion. Raja Riaz Ahmed said, “We are PTI’s sympathizers and not blackmailers. Prime Minister Imran Khan is our leader and we want to see him stronger. There are some people around the premier who are targeting Jahangir Tareen. We are not seeking any relaxation and will come out victorious from courts.”
Nauman Ahmad Langrial said, “Jahangir Tareen brought us in PTI respectfully and we will support him to strengthen the party. Those who want to weaken PTI actually want to weaken Pakistan. I appeal to all PTI members to stand with Jahangir Tareen.”
It is important to mention that Jahangir Tareen and his son Ali Tareen have been granted bail by a Sessions Court Lahore till April 22 in a case related to money laundering through sugar mills.
As per the details, both appeared before the court and their counsel requested to grant bail for a long period due to coronavirus. The lawyer mentioned that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had summoned Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen on Friday. Both are likely to be called to FIA’s office again.
