Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has addressed a press conference at Karachi Press Club on the current situation of the country.

Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that responsible for the current situation in the country is the ministers who signed the agreement with Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan.

Those who chanted the slogan of Messenger of Allah were shot directly on their chests.

“We offer our condolences to the families of the martyrs,” Mufti Muneeb said.

Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman also termed the decision to ban Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan as unwise.

He also demanded the immediate release of detained TLP Chief Saad Rizvi.

Federal Cabinet on Thursday approved the proposal to impose a ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

The ban has been imposed for killing two policemen, attacking law enforcement forces and disrupting public life through nationwide protests.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday approved the summary sent by the Ministry of Interior seeking a ban on TLP following violent protests across the country.

This development came after Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed announced that the government of Pakistan has decided to ban hardline political party TLP.

Sheikh Rasheed while addressing media announced that keeping in view the party’s recent activities including the abduction of policemen and destroying of public property has led the federal government to ban TLP under Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, (11) B.

It should be noted that demonstrations erupted in major Pakistani cities and quickly turned violent after Saad Hussain Rizvi, the head of the TLP, was arrested on Monday.

A day before his arrest, TLP chief Saad Hussain Rizvi had threatened the government with protests if it did not expel France’s envoy to Islamabad over blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

TLP Chief had called on the government to honour what he said was a commitment made to his party in February to expel the French envoy before April 20 over the publication in France of depictions of the Prophet (PBUH), which has enraged Muslims around the world.

The federal government of Pakistan had reached a four-point agreement with Khadim Hussain Rizvi, former head of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan, on November 16, 2020, demanding the deportation of the French ambassador to Islamabad. The French ambassador had to be sent back after the legislation was passed by the parliament.
