Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Wednesday directed the law enforcement agencies to ensure writ of the state at every cost.
According to the details, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review the law and order, and the situation caused due to protest by hardline political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan.
The Minister directed the law enforcement agencies to ensure writ of the state at every cost.
He said motorways, G.T Road and other roads have been cleared for traffic. He said Rangers have done an excellent job in collaboration with police and the administration in this regard.
It should be noted that Police on Monday arrested Saad Hussain Rizvi, chief of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and son of late cleric Khadim Hussain Rizvi.
Rizvi called on the government to honour what he said was a commitment it made in February to his party to expel the French envoy before April 20 over the publication in France of depictions of the Prophet. The government has said it only committed to discuss the matter in Parliament.
