Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the virtual ceremony regarding the inauguration of free food service under the ‘Koi Bhooka Na Soye’ program.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that it is the responsibility of the state to uplift the weaker sections, adding that delivery of free meals will help the poor, deserving, laborers and piece-rate workers save their hard-earned money to feed their children and families.
It is worth mentioning here that the concept of truck kitchens ‘Ehsaas Koi Bhooka Na Soye’ was launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan last month under the umbrella of Ehsaas to serve free meal boxes twice a day to daily wage earners in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Till now meals have been distributed among over 37 thousand people.
This program is Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision for the year 2021 and he had committed his resolution for the year 2021 that the EKBNS program would be rolled out to make sure that no one goes to bed empty stomach.
Each truck will feed 1,500 to 2000 people daily on designated service points. The program will be up-scaled to other parts of the country later this year in phases.
