Cabinet Committee Recommends Inclusion Of Shehbaz Sharif In ECL: Sheikh Rashid
Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that the three-member committee approved the request of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and recommended including the name of PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif to Exit Control List (ECL).
Talking to the media after the meeting in Islamabad, Sheikh Rashid said that the cabinet committee had met and recommended including Shehbaz Sharif’s name in the ECL.
He said that Article 25 also states that no single accused can be treated specially.
He said that the three-member committee considered the request valid and unanimously recommended that Shehbaz Sharif’s name be included in the ECL.
Explaining, Sheikh Rashid said that the three members unanimously approved the NAB’s request to put Shahbaz Sharif’s name on ECL on the video link and recommended to the cabinet adding that Shehbaz Sharif has the right to file the review.
Asked about the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), he said that 1677 TLP members have been released under 16 MPOs, 280 FIRs have been registered and these people will go through a legal process.
He said that 1074 persons have been released by the court under 16 MPOs and the remaining 1677 persons have been released by the government and the cases of 25 people have also been disposed of.
Sheikh Rashid said that an agreement has been reached with Saudi Arabia for the release of prisoners and 1100 prisoners will be transferred from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, including those with small cases.
