A court in Lahore granted judicial 14- day remand of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Mian Javed Latif in the anti-state remarks case.
According to the details, the PML-N MNA was produced before the court on completion of his physical remand.
The prosecution side informed the court that the PML-N leader’s 14-day physical remand has completed.
Javed Latif complained to the judge about the ill-treatment meted out to him during his being in police custody on the physical remand.
It is worth mentioning here that in April police took the PML-N MNA into custody after a session court dismissed his bail application in the case pertaining to allegedly defaming state institutions.
The politician was charged under sections 12013 [Punishment of criminal conspiracy], 153A [Promoting enmity between different groups], 505(1) B [Statements conducing to public mischief], and 506 [Punishment for criminal intimidation] of the Pakistan Penal Code. Sections of the Preventions of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 were included in the FIR as well.
