Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed deep grief over the horrifying bus accident in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan on early Monday morning.

Usman Buzdar, taking to his Twitter, has assured that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators of negligence in the DG Khan accident.

“In this hour of grief, we share in the grief and pain of the bereaved families,” he said.

Moreover, Buzdar further added that the best treatment facilities are being provided to the injured.

At least 34 people were killed and more than 90 received wounds when a passenger bus collided with a trailer in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan.

According to the details, the DG Khan bus accident occurred near Taunsa By-Pass where a passenger bus, travelling to Sialkot from Ranjanpur, collided with a trailer, killing twenty-seven persons on the spot.

The emergency rescue teams arrived at the spot and moved the dead and injured to the district hospital.

On the other hand, the ill-fated passenger bus that collided with a trailer in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan was not ‘roadworthy’, well-informed sources said.

Sources privy to the development said that the bus was overcrowded and was not a mechanical fit to hit the roads.

Earlier near Pull Rango, a similar incident occurred killing six people and injuring 30 others when the passenger bus was travelling in turned turtle after skidding off a bridge in Khanewal.

The driver of the vehicle lost control while trying to avoid hitting a motorcycle, due to which the bus overturned, sources added.
