COVID-19 crisis is worsening across Karachi, hospitals across the city were filled with patients. The positivity is increasing. Experts have instructed people to get vaccinated and wear masks.

All wards of government hospitals have been filled and departments are being converted into coronavirus wards.

A large number of medical staff from the Civil Hospital have been infected with the coronavirus and the OPD and electrosurgery of six departments have been cancelled for some time. Medical experts are advising people to get vaccinated and wear masks to prevent coronavirus.

National Command and Operation Centre said in a statement that during the NCOC meeting held today, the forum critically reviewed disease spread in Karachi and decided to take all possible measures to assist the Sindh Government in combating the rising trend of the disease.

The measures being undertaken by Federal Government include ramp-up of critical care capacity including oxygenated beds & vents, availability of oxygen and deployment of LEAs for implementation of SOPs and NPIs.

Deaths and cases continue to rise in Pakistan during the fourth wave of the coronavirus, with 86 deaths in the last 24 hours, while the positivity rate was 7.79 per cent.

According to Corona’s statistics website (covid.gov.pk) in Pakistan, 58,203 tests were carried out on Corona in the last 24 hours across the country, of which 4,537 were confirmed to be infected with the virus. 86 people died.

The official portal stated the rate of positive cases of corona in the country during the last 24 hours was 7.79%.

The official portal further stated that the number of deaths in the country has risen to 23,295 and the total number of cases has reached 1,024,861.

In addition, 1489 patients have recovered from Corona in 24 hours across the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 938,843 while the number of active cases is 23,295.

867,226  vaccine doses were administered across Pakistan on 29 July and in total 28,743,225 vaccine shots were administered till now.
