The visit comes as Pakistan and China celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The FO said that over 100 events have been planned out of which more than 60 events have already been held.
“These celebrations have immensely contributed to injecting a fresh vigour and warmth in the traditional friendship,” said the statement.
The FO reiterated that Pakistan and China are the closest friends and staunch partners, adding that the time-tested relationship is “based on unparalleled mutual trust, understanding and commonality of interests”.
Earlier, Qureshi had said that India is politicizing the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issue.
Taking to his Twitter today, the Foreign Minister further added that the recent statement on FATF by India’s minister makes clear their malintent.
“Pakistan has consistently maintained that India has politicised FATF. The recent Indian statement makes clear their malintent. Manipulating an important technical forum for narrow political designs against Pakistan is disgraceful but not surprising for the Modi Government.”
The Foreign Minister further lashed out at the Modi-led government saying that manipulating an important technical forum for narrow political designs against Pakistan is disgraceful.
