Noor Mukadam Murder: Parents and employees of the accused jailed
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad District and Sessions Court has remanded the parents and employees of Zahir Jaffer, the main accused in the Noor murder case, to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
The court sent Asmat Adamjee, Zakir Jaffer and employees Iftikhar and Jameel to Adiala Jail.
The parents and two employees of Zahir Jaffer were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Shoaib Akhtar.
The four accused were sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand. The court has ordered the accused to be produced before the court again on August 10.
The judge asked the plaintiff’s lawyers if the police had requested a judicial remand. “Will you give arguments?” The lawyers replied saying, “No, if they are sending him to jail on judicial remand, we will not give any arguments.”
Raja Rizwan Abbasi, counsel for the accused’s father Zakir Jaffer and mother Asmat, appeared in court and sought permission to meet his client.
The court granted the plea of lawyer Raja Rizwan Abbasi and summoned the accused again to the court room. Raja Rizwan Abbasi Advocate then discussed the case with his client.
It may be recalled that Islamabad police arrested accused Zahir on the night of July 20 from his house where, according to Noor’s parents, the accused killed their daughter with a sharp instrument, slaughtering her throat.
In the case, former Pakistani ambassador Shaukat Ali Mukadam said that his daughter Noor Mukadam, 26, was killed by accused Zahir with a sharp instrument. According to police, signs of torture were found on the body of the victim while the head was detached from the body.
