Pakistan To Raise Issue Of Hacking Of PM’s Calls At Relevant Forum

Pakistan has decided that the issue of hacking of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s telephone calls by India will be raised at the relevant forums.

According to the report, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said, “We are waiting for the details of the hacking.”

When the Information Minister was asked whether the matter would be taken up with India, he replied that when the details were received, the matter would be taken up at the relevant forums.

Earlier, in a tweet, the federal minister expressed concern over reports that the Indian government had used Israeli software to spy on journalists and political opponents.

Fawad Chaudhry had said that he was deeply concerned over the report, adding that “the immoral policies of the Modi government have dangerously polarized India and the region.”

Foreign media reports said India was among the countries that used the Israeli company’s spy software, which successfully monitored the smartphones of journalists, government officials and human rights activists around the world.

An investigation published by 17 media organizations revealed that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s number one was on India’s list.

The Washington Post, The Gazette, Le Monde and other news outlets participated in the investigation into the data leak and published a report on the use of spyware Pegasus.

According to the Washington Post, the number of surveillance numbers in India is more than a thousand, while hundreds of numbers, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, were from Pakistan.

The newspaper report did not specify whether the attempt to monitor Prime Minister Imran Khan’s number was successful.

According to the Indian investigative news website Wire, 300 mobile numbers were used in India and the list includes numbers of government ministers, opposition politicians, journalists, scientists and human rights activists.

On the other hand, Federal Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari reacted by saying, “In the second part, the Modi government has revealed the supervision of its ministers.

Earlier, the Indian government had rejected reports of spying on its citizens in 2019, while WhatsApp had sued the Israeli company NSO in the United States over allegations of espionage and accused the company of spying on WhatsApp Is using the app.

The Israeli company NSO and its spy network Pegasus have been in the news since 2016 when researchers revealed that the company was helping to spy on citizens in the United Arab Emirates.

The revelation raises privacy and rights concerns and suggests that the overseas software of a private Israeli company may have been misused by international clients.

According to media reports, the number of leaked smartphone numbers is more than 50,000 and it is believed that access has been given to NSO clients since 2016.
