Prime Minister Imran Khan has started interviewing candidates for the post of PM of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in which the candidates were being asked about the strategy on the environment, tourism and national and international affairs.

According to the report, however, there is uncertainty as to who will be the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir as the number of aspiring candidates is increasing.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister interviewed five candidates, including Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Barrister Sultan Mehmood, Khawaja Farooq, Azhar Sadiq and Abdul Qayyum Niazi. Abdul Qayyum Niazi was not among the aspirants for the post of Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir before but his name Came out suddenly

In addition, three to four more candidates will be interviewed on Friday (today) and the Prime Minister is expected to announce the name of the new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir before August 5.

Sources said that Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed frustration over being approached by various constituencies for support of certain candidates and told the candidates that he would take his own decision without any pressure.

Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said that the Prime Minister has started interviewing the candidates and now no one can call himself a favourite.

He said that the Prime Minister was conducting detailed interviews of the candidates in which they were being asked about the environment, tourism, economy, border issues and future strategy.

Sources said that after meeting the Prime Minister, the body language of Sardar Tanveer and Sultan Masood looked disappointing which shows that other candidates are also being seriously considered.

PM wrote in his tweet, “I want to thank the ppl of AJK for placing their trust in PTI through their votes which resulted in PTI’s electoral victory. We will focus on bringing the ppl out of poverty through our Ehsaas & Kamyab Pakistan progs; & establish accountability & transparency in govt.”

“I want to congratulate all our successful candidates. As ambassador for Kashmir I will continue to raise my voice on all international forums incl UN to ensure the int community fulfills its commitment of self determination to the Kashmiri ppl through a UN-sponsored plebiscite.” PM states
