Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has on Friday expressed his strong condemnation over the recent horrifying murder incidents which have sparked outrage among the women community, social media users, celebrities and social activists.

Taking to Twitter, Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that “this [brutality against women] has no place in our society, lives, religion or culture. We must work harder and do more for prevention and justice”.

He further mentioned the names of ladies who were recently murdered in Pakistan.

The grisly murder of Noor Muqaddam, daughter of a former Pakistani diplomat in Islamabad, sparked fresh debate about the safety of women in the federal capital, with the hashtag #JusticeForNoor attracting tens of thousands of tweets.

A friend of the woman, identified in the FIR as Zahir Zakir Jaffer, was arrested over his alleged involvement in the murder, with police saying he is the son of “a leading businessman of the country”.

This was reportedly the third brutal attack on a woman in the country in the past few days.

Before Noor, in a ghastly incident to have been reported Tuesday from Bawa Chack of Punjab’s metropolitan city Faislabad, a man allegedly shot his wife dead following a family scuffle.

The police noted that the suspect name Sajid shot fatally at her wife, Quratulain following a family dispute and then fled the scene before police reached the house.
