
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that we have no objection to India’s good relations with Afghanistan and our focus in Afghanistan is not on only one group.
In a statement issued on the current situation in Afghanistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the Indian media made a fuss about his visit to Kabul and talked irresponsibly, while the Indian media should confirm before speaking adding that he did not go to Kabul but attended important meetings in Pakistan.
“Yesterday we had a discussion with the EU foreign policy chief in which we briefed him on Pakistan’s assistance in Kabul. In addition, I will visit Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran, while I have already had talks with China,” he said.
The Foreign Minister said that Afghanistan is a multi-ethnic country, there are also Pashtuns and other ethnicities, the government that came to power in Afghanistan should be broad-based and collectivist.
He further said that Pakistan and neighboring countries of the region want peace in Afghanistan but anti-peace forces ‘spoilers’ are still active in Afghanistan. India has to give up its limited thinking.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan prayers are offered for the development of Afghanistan, educated people are needed for the development of Afghanistan, protection of life, respect for fundamental rights and a better future of Afghanistan is essential.
