Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has on Wednesday confirmed that Pakistan Television (PTV) will now benefit the young filmmakers to join the industry.
While the refurbishing of PTV News is already in the works, Fawad Chaudhry is now averting his attention towards its sports and entertainment channels.
With this, the minister has announced a new series on the life of Mizra Ghalib and Mughal Emperor Babur. The drama will be made in collaboration with Uzbekistan.
“After PTV News, we are revamping PTV Sports and Entertainment,” he said.
“PTV will make an elaborate drama series on [Mughal emperor] Babar and poet Mirza Ghalib in partnership with Uzbekistan and Pakistan,” he shared on his Twitter handle on Tuesday.

Earlier, Chaudhry had announced that not only is the new Pakistani National Anthem in the final stages of its digital recording, state-run channel PTV would go HD on June 1, 2021, and PTV Sports will also become HD this year.
“Recording of new Anthem I initiated in 2018 now its in the final stages we will have a new digital recording of the anthem in few months Inshallah,” he had tweeted.
