ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has formed a preparatory committee to carry out the preparations for the 2023 general election.
After the approval of the Chief Election Commissioner and members, the ECP constituted a planning committee to commence the next general elections preparations, BOL News reported.
Officials from all wings of the election commission have been included in the planning committee under the chairmanship of the Secretary Election Commission which includes Special Secretary, Additional Secretary besides officials of Election, Law, Coordination, IT, GIS, Admin, Printing Wing.

The planning committee will look into the issue of constituencies and procurement of election materials for the next general elections.
The committee will take steps to raise funds for the deployment of polling staff, training, polling scheme, GPS mapping of polling stations and will also look into the possible use of EVMs, storage, security and transportation.
Planning, coordination and implementation committees were also formed in the last general elections.
