KARACHI: The Joharabad Police on Saturday arrested an inter-provincial drug kingpin involved in drug peddling and seized 70 kg of high-quality hashish from his possession.
Police have received information about the arrested accused Rizwan Ali who smuggled drugs from Quetta to Karachi in a vehicle while his accomplice Imran son of Haider Zaman used to hide the narcotics in a secret place in Karachi.
According to the police, the arrested accused said that Imran was his cousin who transported the narcotics from Qila Abdullah to Quetta and later brought them to Karachi.
The police revealed on the basis of which further arrests are expected.
Earlier this week, Orangi Town Police claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in various street crimes during an operation against street criminals, drug peddlers and fugitives to curb crime in the city.
According to the Karachi Police spokesperson, the accused named Saleem involved in various street crimes and drug trafficking has been arrested and the police also recovered illegal weapons, arms, ammunition from his possession.
The accused had earlier been arrested and jailed in a drug trafficking case from the Iqbal Market police station, the spokesperson added.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
