NCOC mulls over future comprehensive vaccination strategy

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday discussed a comprehensive future vaccination strategy.

NCOC Chairman and Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Asad Umar chaired the meeting in which the forum expressed satisfaction over the low positivity and fatality rate in the country and placed a particular emphasis on the obligatory vaccination regime.

Pakistan on Tuesday reported 315 coronavirus cases out of 35,332 tests with a positivity ratio of 0.89 per cent.

According to NCOC, five people died during the last 24 hours, while 1,026 others were still under critical care.

Earlier in October, the NCOC further relaxed Covid-19 related restrictions by allowing the reopening of cinemas, and shrines for fully vaccinated citizens.

The decision was announced after the coronavirus situation continued to improve in the country.

“Cinemas and shrines across the country are allowed to reopen for fully vaccinated people adding that mandatory one-day weekly closure of businesses has also been abolished,” said the NCOC stated in a statement.

The federal government’s central body dealing with the pandemic also allowed increasing the number of guests attending indoor wedding ceremonies from 200 to 300 and from 300 to 500 for outdoor weddings.
