Pakistan on Thursday recorded a slight increase in the number of coronavirus-related deaths across the country, with 13 cases being reported in the last 24 hours.

Out of 13 coronavirus patients who died during the past 24 hours, 12 were under treatment in different hospital, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said in its update.

The national tally of total active Covid-19 cases hit 13,538 with 363 new cases.

Most of the deaths in the past 24 hours were recorded in Sindh followed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The maximum ventilators were occupied in four major areas including Multan 28 per cent, Peshawar 19 per cent, Lahore 11 per cent and Islamabad 10 per cent.

The maximum oxygen beds (alternate oxygen providing facility other than ventilator administered as per the medical requirement of COVID patient) were also occupied in four major areas including Multan 39 per cent, Swabi 27 per cent, Sargodha 17 per cent and Gujrat 16 per cent.

Around 118 ventilators were occupied elsewhere in the country while no Covid affected person was on a ventilator in, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Balochistan.

As many as 41,240 tests were conducted across the country during 24 hours, including 12,966 in Sindh, 14,290 in Punjab, 8,747 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 4,454 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 345 in Balochistan, 307 in GB, and 131 in AJK.

Around 1,240,995 people have recovered from the disease across Pakistan.

About 28,690 deaths were recorded in the country since the pandemic. Around 7,619 have perished in Sindh, out of which five died in hospital while one dies out of the hospital on Wednesday.

A total of 21,796,915 tests have been conducted so far, while 640 hospitals are equipped with Covid facilities.
