KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Tuesday, in a joint intelligence-based operation, with police held three most-wanted suspected robbers from the Liaquatabad area and seized arms and ammunition from their possession.

A Sindh Rangers spokesman said that during the interrogation, the accused named Khurram Shehzad, Saleem and Rehan confessed that they along with their other accomplices had been involved in various robberies in Bahawalnagar, Gujranwala and different areas of Karachi.

Four 30 bore pistols and 20 rounds were also recovered from the possession of the accused while raids are being carried out to arrest their accomplices, according to the spokesman of Sindh Rangers.

The arrested accused along with arms and ammunition have been handed over to the police for further legal action.

Earlier, the Joharabad Police arrested an inter-provincial drug kingpin involved in drug peddling and seized 70 kg of high-quality hashish from his possession.

Police have received information about the arrested accused Rizwan Ali who smuggled drugs from Quetta to Karachi in a vehicle while his accomplice Imran son of Haider Zaman used to hide the narcotics in a secret place in Karachi.

According to the police, the arrested accused said that Imran was his cousin who transported the narcotics from Qila Abdullah to Quetta and later brought them to Karachi.

The police revealed on the basis of which further arrests are expected.
