ISLAMABAD: National Assembly session will be held at 4 pm on Monday (today) after an interval of two days.

The of the session includes no confidence motion against the prime minister and calling attention notices on public interest matters.

On March 25, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar had adjourned the session till March 28 evening as the opposition’s demand for a no-confidence motion was included in the agenda.

The brief session had included prayers for the deceased member of the house – former MNA from Hangu Khayal Zaman Khan. Following the prayers, the speaker had said that the session was adjourned till March 28 evening as per the tradition of adjourning the session in respect of the deceased member.

Speaker Asad Qaisar, however, had maintained that the no-confidence motion was included in the agenda and would be taken up in the coming sessions.

Interestingly, the top ally of the government – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid and Balochistan Awami Party members were not present in the house.

The session was attended by Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Peoples Party leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and second-tier leadership of both the parties.

Jamat-e-Islami member from Chitral Abdul Haq Chitrali did not attend the session.

Extraordinary security arrangements had been made for the National Assembly session and the area had been completely sealed off by enforcing section 144 in the red zone.
