CTD arrests suspect from Punjab University hostel

KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh has arrested a suspect allegedly involved in facilitating the Karachi University suicide bomb blast incident, Bol news reported on Thursday.

The investigation sources said the suspect has been identified as Beebgar Imdad and he was traced through his mobile phone contacts.

The sources said the suspect was being interrogated for more information.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies have located the residence of the suicide bomber Shari Baloch.

The significant progress has been made during the probe carried out by the law enforcers in Karachi.

As per details, the security agencies during the raid in Scheme 33 area found out that Shari Baloch’s father was owner of the place where she was residing.

During the bust, laptops and other documents have been seized from the house. It was also reported that vehicles with government number plates had recently visited the residence.

Not only this, Shari Baloch’s sister Asma’s wedding also took place at the same house.

The suicide bomber has seven siblings and her elder sister is also a PhD doctor.

At least four people including three Chinese nationals had been killed in a blast at the Karachi University on April 26.

Terror outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had claimed responsibility for the suicide attack targeting Chinese nationals. In a statement released to the media, it had said that the terror act was carried out by the group’s first female attacker, Shari Baloch.
