ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had emphatically rejected the traitors who sold themselves out to their foreign masters.

In a tweet, PM Imran Khan congratulated KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) team for their overwhelming success in phase 2 of KP local bodies polls.

“This is an early warning to all traitors of what awaits them in their constituencies,” he added.

Mahmood Khan retweeted the tweet and thanked the prime minister.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had outperformed all the opposition parties in the second phase of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s local bodies election.

He, in a tweet, said the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F was far behind the PTI in the contest while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was completely wiped out.

Fawad thanked the Almighty Allah (SWT) for the lead taken by the PTI in the LG elections, which, he said, predicted the future.

Meanwhile, PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan said, “This victory is a slap in the face of conscience-sellers and those involved in the conspiracy. The nation stands with the truth. This is a changing Pakistan. We are becoming a nation and falsehood has been exposed. May Allah (SWT) establish this country, Amen. We are freeing ourselves from mental slavery — for generations to come.”

The unofficial results of the 2nd phase of KP LB polls places the ruling party in the lead.

According to the unofficial results, the counting in 38 out of 64 tehsil councils is complete and PTI succeeded in 18 tehsil councils and is in a leading position in 11 tehsil councils.
