The Supreme Court will resume the hearing into the suo motu case about dismissal of no-confidence motion in the National Assembly on Thursday (today).

A five member larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial is hearing the case.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Counsel Babar Awan has submitted his arguments.

On the other hand, amid all the Punjab Assembly row, another controversy had hit the House on April 6 as the PTI had submitted a no-trust motion against Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari.

The no-trust motion was moved by the incumbent political party for not carrying out the order to postpone the assembly’s session to April 16.

The resolution was submitted against Mazari on the basis of distrust and it was claimed that the deputy speaker was no longer eligible to summon the House after the motion.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Mazari had expressed his concerns over the rising political crisis in the province and maintained that he was eligible to convene the session in the House in accordance with the law despite the no-trust motion.

The development had come days after the controversial ruling of the deputy speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri in line with the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
