Youm-e-Takbir is a national enthusiasm and eagerness to commemorate the historic nuclear tests at Chagai on May 28, 1998. It’s been 24 years since Pakistan become a nuclear power and this is being celebrated across the country.

Each year, the day is honoured on May 28, in the memory of the time when Pakistan emerged before the world as the first Islamic nuclear power.

On this day Pakistan declared itself an atomic power by detonating a nuclear bomb after which the desire of the enemies to attack Pakistan died down. This year’s theme is decided as “Neither bow nor bend,” (na jhukay na jhukygy). As an Anniversary of great historic development when each Pakistani is quite proud regardless of his/her political affiliations, 10-day celebrations were announced by the government.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also released a national anthem in this regard, which aims to highlight the significance of this day. Whereas Prime Minister and Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had already announced ten days of celebrations on the completion of 24 years of nuclear tests. Pakistan’s greatness was proclaimed from the mountains of Balochistan, and the intentions of the enemy were shattered.
