Central Business District consisting of 2500 acres of land has been established under Gwadar Master Plan.

280km road network has been constructed, Pak-China Friendship Hospital with 150 beds at a cost of Rs. 30.5 million is under construction.

“Bids have been sought from domestic and foreign firms for the promotion of tourism which will be followed by a comprehensive plan on tourism,” these views were expressed by Director General Gwadar Development Authority Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani while addressing the participants of Gwadar National Conference.

He said that Gwadar is the only city after Islamabad which under the master plan the construction and development process is being carried out in accordance with international standards.

Work is underway on various water supply projects in Gwadar. In this regard, two dams Shadi Kaur and Sod Dam have been completed and connected to the city through pipelines, says Mujeeb Qambrani, adding, currently replacing old distribution lines within the city.

“To make Gwadar city environment friendly, a sewage water treatment plant has been set up here so that the sewage water of Gwadar can be used for rehabilitation instead of polluting the coast,” he said.

He further said that GDA Hospital is being brought under Indus Hospital Karachi, the country’s most prestigious hospital, after which the people here will have access to high quality medical treatment free of cost.

“GDA is working on various projects for the development of fishermen and fisheries, including construction of jetty at Padisar, development of boat making industry and construction of floating jetty at Guns, construction of fishing jetty at Sarbandar and Pushkan,” he said.

He said that various institutes have been set up for the provision of higher education and technical education. These include Pak-China Friendship Technical Institute, Gwadar Institute of Technology and GD School.

“Under the Public Partner Night, resorts and seafood streets will be built on the beautiful shores of Gwadar in the style of two rivers of Karachi and projects will be worked on under Public Private Partnership for the promotion of tourism,” he added.
