Imran says will not sit peacefully & quietly if people’s mandate stolen


Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said they would not sit peacefully and quietly if the mandate of the people were stolen.

He said this while addressing the nation through electronic media on Thursday.

He lambasted the role of Election Commissioner of Pakistan and said that the EC had allowed the corrupt practices in Senate election and Sindh local government elections

He further said that Yousuf Raza Gillani’s son was caught red-handed while giving bribes to PTI MNAs during the Senate election.

He harshly criticised that the Election Commissioner had postponed the second phase of LG elections in Sindh using lame excuse of possible rains in the province.

He recalled that when the KP government had requested the ECP to postpone the LG polls for some time due to weather conditions but the ECP had rejected the request as It was made by the PTI.

He said that the Election Commissioner was a biased person and the man of the PML-N.

The PTI chairman announced that the party would not contest general elections under the present EC.

A report released by an organisation working on election reforms said that there were 167 ways to rig the election but 130 ways could be eliminated thru the use EVMs.

He recalled that when his government had tried to enforce the use of EVMs but the Election Commissioner had become big hindrance in the enforcement of EVMs in the country.


He said that he had never seen such a dishonest person like the Election Commissioner in his whole life.

He highly appreciated the participation of the youth and particularly women in by-elections in Punjab, who came out to vote in a large number despite the use of state machinery, all corrupt and rigging practices in the election.

Khan asserted that the time has gone when with the help of the establishment the parties came into power.

He further said that for two days Zardari, Shehbaz and Fazlur Rehman have trying to buy the votes of the PTI MPAs with looted money.

He urged the judiciary to play its role in stopping the corrupt practices in the elections going on in the country.

He said that Zardari and Sharifs had registered cases against one another, adding that the powerful quarters had saved them during the PTI government’s time.


He said that they were helpless in punishing them as the NAB was not under their control and they had no idea who was running all the affairs.

He explained that they had to keep their MPAs in hotels to save them from illegal arrest and possible kidnapping.

He warned all institutions to play their due role in this regard, adding that the PTI had always acted upon the law and constitution but the PTI would not allow anyone to play the fact of the nation if public mandate were snatched, they would sit peacefully and they would not be responsible for any untoward situation in the country .

Imran Khan urged the people not to sit silently and peacefully at homes and must come out against the cruelty and rigging.

He further said Zardari and others would not escape from the anguish of people and would try to hide.
