MULTAN: In a horrific incident near Multan, at least 20 people lost their lives and six are injured as a passenger bus collided with an oil tanker, reported BOL News on Tuesday.
The incident took place at M-5 Motorway when the bus taking passengers from Lahore to Karachi collided with an oil tanker.
The reason for the accident was overspeeding as mentioned by the police and the traffic at the spot remained suspended for hours after the collision.
The bus caught fire immediately after the incident and the injured ones were rescued by the motorway police.
The spokesperson for the Motorway police said that the fire was so intense that it was visible from a long distance and it took several hours for the teams to snuff out the fire.
President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi expressed grief over the death of 20 people and for the ones who are braving the injuries. While taking to his Twitter, Dr Alvi prayed for the departed souls and their families.
