KARACHI: Funeral prayer of veteran comedian Ismail Tara offered in Karachi after Jumma prayers, Bol News reported.
Son of the actor, Shiraz said his funeral prayer will be offered after Jumma prayer at Jamia Masjid Pahari Wali near Shaheed Millat Road.
Ismail Tara has passed away in Karachi on Thursday at the age of 73.
Ismail Tara had long been suffering from kidney disease and he was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi for treatment.
He began his showbiz career in 1960s and rose to popularity in 1980s for his work in Fifty Fifty. He won Best Comedian Award of Nigar Awards five times.
On November 19, stage actor and comedian Tariq Teddy passed away at the age of 46, according to his family.
Teddy’s son had told that his father had spent the previous 10 days being treated at the Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute and Research Center for pulmonary and liver-related illnesses.
The government had previously received a request for Teddy’s treatment from his family, and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi had later pledged financial support.
The deceased’s son had received Rs. 500,000 checks from Information Secretary Asif Iqbal Lodhi and Chief Minister Press Secretary Chaudhry Iqbal.
A number of celebrities from the entertainment world had earlier paid the renowned comic a visit to the hospital and sent their best wishes.
