Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says he will not tolerate any negligence in the implementation of the Kissan package.
Chairing the review meeting on the implementation of the Kissan Package in Islamabad on Thursday, he said the government is providing subsidies on tube wells to the farmers in the flood-affected areas.
The Prime Minister said in this difficult time, the government is providing all kinds of support to its farmers for the upcoming crop.
He said Gwadar port will be used for 50 percent cargo of wheat and urea. He further said that the full functioning of Gwadar Port is key for the development of Balochistan. The Prime Minister said all steps will be taken to make Gwadar port operational.
The meeting was informed in detail about the implementation of Kisan Package. In the meeting, the prime minister was also given a detailed briefing on the subsidy given to the farmers on tube wells, the facilities and assistance given to the farmers in the flood-affected areas for the next crop.
Meanwhile, President Dr Arif Alvi says Chinese investment and contributions to Pakistan’s energy infrastructure are increasing the country’s ability to diversify its energy mix based on nuclear, hydel, solar and wind energy in a bid to help meet its energy needs.
The President expressed these views while talking to the General Manager of China Energy International Group Co Ltd Lyu Xiufeng at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Thursday.
The President stressed focusing on alternate and renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, besides using efficient and critical technologies to minimize the emission of greenhouse gases from coal and oil-based energy sources.
During the meeting, the President was briefed on Neelum Jhelum, Dasu, Suki Kinari, Azad Pattan and Mohmand hydropower projects and Karachi K2/K3, Bhikki Combined Cycle Power Project, Jhimpir Wind Power Projects and M-4 Motorway projects.

The President said CPEC is a multi-dimensional project, which is helping the country in improving its road, port and communication networks, besides promoting industrialization in the country and meeting its energy and power needs.
He expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Government and the Chinese people for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Pakistan in wake of the recent devastating floods and appreciated the initiatives taken by the China Energy International Group for contributing to the rehabilitation of flood victims in the most affected areas of the country.
