KARACHI: Sindh High Court(SHC) while expressing annoyance at Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) for not demolishing illegal construction on amenity plot in Orangi Town and remarked that don’t force the court to issue strict orders.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Zulfiqar Sangi heard the case related to illegal construction on an amenity plot in Orangi Town.

Justice Nadeem Akhtar expressed annoyance at Sindh Building Control Authority for not demolishing the illegal construction on an amenity plot and remarked all the irregularities in the city are because of SBCA.

The court remarked that no illegal construction without SBCA’s connivance can be done in the city.

The Petitioner submitted in the court that a multi-storied illegal building has been constructed at ST 2 and Sector 3.

Justice Nadeem Akhtar asked Assistant Director SBCA that the court ordered to take action against illegal construction in August but no action has been taken yet.

Assistant Director SBCA replied that that letter has already been sent to residents and added that action would be taken soon.

Justice Nadeem Akhtar remarked that SBCA officials only get paid to write letters and added that the court gave show-cause notices to the DG (SBCA) in two cases.

Justice Nadeem Akhter remarked that don’t force the court to issue strict orders.
