ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI and former prime minister Imran Khan on Saturday said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has once again proved B team of PDM by not holding local government elections in Islamabad.
In his tweeter message, PTI Chief Imran Khan said the Election Commission of Pakistan has proved again by not following the order of the Islamabad High Court regarding the holding of local government elections in Islamabad today.
Imran Khan said that PDM is afraid of people and running away from all elections including local general elections.
Former prime minister Imran Khan wrote in his tweet that voting is the fundamental right of all and a symbol of democracy. He said PTI stands with this determination.
On other hand, PTI will file a contempt of court plea against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in case of violating the order of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding holding local bodies elections in the federal capital.
The PTI has prepared a petition on contempt of court by the ECP, Bol News reported on Friday.
PTI Islamabad President Ali Nawaz Awan confirmed the news to Bol News saying that the ECP should ensure holding local bodies elections, come what may. He said they would move the IHC if the election process did not kick off today. “We will file contempt of court petition against the ECP in the IHC,” he maintained.
