QUETTA: Chief of Sarawan and Former Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has said that he was going to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) on December 7.

He said this while talking to senior journalists at Sarawan House Quetta on Saturday.

“Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is the most organized and strong political force that can highlight the problems of Balochistan in a better way at the national level and talk about achieving the constitutional rights of the province. During my tenure as the CM, I was strongly supported in NFC Award, Gwadar as Winter Capital, Reko Diq issue after which we voted in Senate and General Elections as well,” Aslam Raisani said.

Taking into consideration the decision to join Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, it is hoped that JUI will further promote its positive political struggle in provincial and national politics, he said.

“I had decided to join the JUI almost a year ago, but the delay in joining the Jamiat was due to Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s PDM and other political and my personal engagements. I am joining Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam unconditionally, I always raised my voice to protect the rights of my province and the people. Parties continue to struggle. One positive aspect is that all parties are highlighting these issues in their own way and the issues are common to all,” Raisani said.

Answering a question, Nawab Aslam Raisani said that the economic crisis of Balochistan is not due to lack of NFC or other reasons, but due to financial mismanagement in the province.

“Those with technical skills should be appointed. Taking some tough decisions can improve the financial position of the province. Until we improve our financial management, the economic crisis will continue like this. Whether or not we get a share from the NFC award is not a problem. 80% of our budget goes to salaries,” he said.

“Discontinuation of non-essential jobs as a fashion and giving priority to revenue generating sectors, focus on government jobs as well as industrial sectors, establishment of tax free zones So that jobs are provided to people in the private sector as well, until the problems of strengthening the private sector are not resolved, people should not depend only on the government for employment,” he said.

“We have to make a concerted effort, the establishment of districts in the province is also being implemented without looking at the revenue. Investors need to provide a safe environment,” he said.

The ex-Balochistan CM said that although there has been interference in politics, but we are the politicians who bring the establishment into politics, until we politicians correct our direction, the situation will continue to get worse and worse.

He said that the problem of missing persons is a serious and human tragedy and it should end. My position on Reko Diq was clear that refining should be done here. The position is clear and there is no ambiguity in it.

He said that the political forces in Balochistan will not allow the non-political forces to interfere in the affairs. It is the politicians who bring the army into politics, until the political parties correct their direction, the situation will get worse from bad to worse.
