ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High court (IHC) on Thursday sought arguments in the Toshakhana disqualification reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
A hearing was conducted in the IHC today under the chair of IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. Imran Khan’s lawyer Ali Zafar, the Election Commission of Pakistan’s counsel and others appeared before the court.
During the hearing, Ali Zafar requested the court to bar ECP from taking action against Imran Khan in the disqualification case.
On this occasion, the ECP lawyer said they are not taking any action as per the directions of the court.
While summoning final arguments in the case, IHC adjourned the hearing till December 13.
Pertinently, Imran Khan moved IHC against the disqualification verdict announced by the ECP in the Toshakhana reference maintaining that the PTI chief had not shared the details of the gifts he retained from the Toshaskhana.
Notably, PTI Chairman Imran Khan was announced disqualified by the ECP in the Toshakhana reference in October.
