LAHORE: Spokesperson to Punjab Government and Chief Minister Musarrat Jamshed Cheema on Friday said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had directed party leaders not to criticize the state institutions, Bol News reported.
“Neither we have been against the institutes in the past, nor will become a part in campaign against them in the future,” Musarrat Cheema said in a video statement.
Ostensibly pointing towards a retired senior government official, she said everyone knew what one person had done and it was a matter of the past now. “The constitution and law allows us to have an opinion against an individual,” she said.
The Punjab government spokesperson said Imran Khan talked about superiority of the law and strengthening of institutes.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the arrest of senior party leader Azam Swati and said that freedom of opinion was being treated as a crime.
He expressed these views on the arrest of Senator Azizam Swati and the atrocities on him, in his Twitter message on Friday. Imran Khan said that the vindictive treatment being done to Senator Swati was sad and condemnable.
“Azam Swati shifted to PIMs early in the morning after suffering from severe chest pain and shortness of breath but he was sent to Quetta without getting the test results. Azam Swati got discharged by the police” he added.
He said that these people have taken Azam Swati to Quetta by risking his life and added that his freedom of opinion is being considered a crime.
