LAHORE: Following the recent political development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has called a crucial session of the legal team for consultations.
The meeting was called after PDM submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi and Speaker Punjab Assembly.
Imran Khan along with the legal team will scrutinize the matters related to the no-confidence motion and will also discuss other political matters.
It is also said that Imran Khan will also take the matter to the senior PTI leadership.
Moreover, the chief has instructed the MPAs to stay in the city owing to the political situation.
Pertinently, the no trust motion was also moved against Punjab Assembly Speaker Muhammad Sibtain Khan and Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi on Monday.
The no-confidence motion was submitted to the Punjab Assembly Secretariat. The move has been dubbed by political analysts as an attempt to delay the process of dissolution of the provincial assembly.
The Punjab governor, Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman, has signed the order summoning the provincial assembly at 4:00 pm on Wednesday (December 21), requiring the chief minister of Punjab to obtain a vote of confidence in terms of Article 130 (7) of the constitution of Pakistan.
