AZAD KASHMIR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken lead on Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPTI) in the third phase of the local government elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the unofficial results of 1070 seats out of a total of 1,083, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has secured 371, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has grabbed 230 seats, followed by Pakistan People’s Party with 139 seats.
The independent candidates secured 313 seats in AJK local government elections and remained second in elections.
Similarly, Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan secured eight seats, and AJK Muslim Conference and JUI secured eight and one seat respectively.
On the other hand, unofficial results of all 116 seats in the district council of Mirpur, Kotli, and Bhambar have been received.
The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) won 55 district council seats out of the total 116, followed by PML-N 26, PPP 19, and independent candidates who grabbed six seats.
Polling for the third and final phase of the local government (LG) elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) was held in three districts of the Mirpur division including Kotli, Mirpur, and Bhimber.
Earlier, Polling in the first phase was conducted on November 27 in the Muzaffarabad division while the second phase of the LG polls was held on December 03 in the Poonch division.
