KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday warned against the encroachment and illegal parking in green belts and open spaces in the city.

The court while taking up the hearing of a case against illegal parking at Sohrab Goth said that there will be no tolerance against the encroachment on any green belt, footpath and service road in the city.

Justice Nadeem Akhtar inquired who has permitted bus stands in the city adding that when the terminal has been built outside the city then why the vehicles have been entering city?

The petitioner’s lawyer said cabins and kiosks were removed on a court order but re-established immediately. He also said that despite the acceptance by Secretary Transport that this parking is illegal, the vehicles keep on entering the city.

Deputy Commissioner East said that the operation against the encroachments at Sohrab Goth will continue and DIG Traffic was also contacted for the smooth flow of traffic.
