KARACHI: Sub-Inspector, Station Investigation Officer (SIO) Ibrahim Haidari Zubair Tanoli on Monday said drug dealers and land grabbers were running gangs in Dalmia area of Karachi with the connivance of Aziz Bhatti Police.

“Dalmia drug dealers and land grabbers have the support of Aziz Bhatti Police. The suspects were taking pictures of my house in Dalmia and I was ready to go to the SSP. When I asked the reason for taking pictures and called on 15, drug dealer Salman got angry,” he said adding that Salman belonged to Haji Aslam Group and ran the drug dealers and land grabbers gang.

“Salman fired at me and my brother. One bullet hit my brother and two hit me. Salman was injured by my retaliatory firing, but he has escaped,” he said.

There were four drug dealing cases against accused Salman in Kohat and one in Aziz Bhatti police station, he said. “I appeal to the IG Sindh and Additional IG to take action against the culprits,” he said.

He said Salman was a member of the Lyari Gang War and police helped him in running away.

On December 23, a close relative of the Karachi police chief had reportedly been robbed at gunpoint, Bol News had reported.

Azizullah Odho, paternal uncle of Additional Inspector General Javed Alam Odho, was deprived of Rs80,000 and mobile phones by armed men. The incident had taken place on Larkana Road, Indus Highway, within limits of Nabi Shah Wigan police station.

A complaint had been lodged at Nabi Shah Wigan police station.

On December 16, Javed Alam Odho had asked citizens not to resist during snatching of mobile phones, Bol News had reported.
