- PM Shehbaz Sharif to call NSC meeting
- Meeting will be summoned this week
- Top civil and military officials will participate
ISLAMABAD: In the wake of the recent wave of terrorism in Pakistan, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has decided to call a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) to combat the scourge of terrorism.
Sources said that the meeting of the National Security Committee is likely to be called this week, in which top civil and military officials will participate.
The status of the implementation of the National Action Plan will be reviewed in the meeting of the National Security Committee.
The meeting will also scrutinize the reasons for the increase in the wave of terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the performance and problems of the institutions working to deal with terrorism will also be reviewed.
Sources in the know further said that the current situation of negotiations with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the implementation of past agreements will also be discussed in the meeting.
Earlier, the premier while condemning the terror attacks in Pakistan said that he will spare no effort to combat the issue.
He said that terrorist elements will be brought to justice, and no effort will be spared to end terrorism.
