ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court rejected the police’s plea for physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry in a case related to using threatening language against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s members.
The police produced PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry in the court of the Judicial Magistrate after completing the two-day physical remand.
At the beginning of the hearing, the prosecutor said that Fawad Chaudhry was trying to create hatred and unrest against the constitutional institution and his statement was creating a threat to the lives of Election Commission workers.
On this occasion, the prosecutor requested for more physical remand and it was told that the voice matching of Fawad Chaudhry has been done, and now he has to undergo his photogrammetry test from Lahore, for which more physical remand is required.
He said that threatening language has been used against the Chief Election Commissioner, and caretaker Chief Minister and physical remand is very necessary for further investigation of this case.
On this occasion, the prosecution referred to the Shehbaz Gill case, while the investigating officer said that a two-day remand was given at twelve o’clock at night, by which time one day had ended.
During the hearing, the statement of lawyer Election Commission Fawad Chaudhry is on record, he has also admitted his speech, and while no objection can be raised to the speech, the accused has accepted the statement.
The lawyer of the Election Commission said that the role of the ECP is very important in the next few months, but Fawad Chaudhry is creating pressure and the ECP is being pushed against the wall.
On this occasion, the police requested that a two-day remand be given at 12 o’clock in the night, by which time one day had ended.
