The appointment of the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab has been stalled and the matter has gone to the parliamentary committee on Wednesday BOL News reported.

According to the reports, after the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly, it has not been possible to appoint the Chief Minister due to which the matter has gone to the Parliamentary Committee.

As per details, Pervez Elahi and Hamza Shehbaz have not been able to agree on the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, after which the Governor of Punjab has been requested to form a parliamentary committee.

However, Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman has written a letter to Speaker Punjab Assembly to form a parliamentary committee, but if the committee fails to decide, the matter will go to the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, on the recommendation of the Speaker Governor, the parliamentary committee will consist of 3 members of the government and 3 members of the opposition.

It should be noted that the constitutional time for consultation between Chief Minister Pervez Elahi and Opposition Leader Hamza Shehbaz on the issue of the appointment of the caretaker chief minister has ended at 10:00 last night, but no single name has been agreed upon between the two leaders.

Notably, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi had officially sent 03 names to the Governor of Punjab for the caretaker chief minister, in which the names of Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, Nasir Mahmood Khosa, Muhammad Naseer Khan were given, while PM Shahbaz Sharif was nominated by the PML-N for the caretaker chief minister of Punjab. Adviser Ahad Cheema and senior journalist Mohsin Raza Naqvi have been sent to the names.
