ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz is likely to return to Pakistan this month to reorganize the party.
In a series of tweets, Maryam Nawaz said she is grateful to PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif and party president Shehbaz Sharif for the confidence they have shown in her.
Maryam said she is looking forward to working with her party colleagues to organize and strengthen PMLN according to the vision of Nawaz Sharif under the able guidance of Shehbaz Sharif.
Maryam Nawaz said she will visit and meet party office-bearers and workers across Pakistan to effectively fulfill this daunting task.
“We will adopt modern techniques and make improvements where needed to ensure PMLN remains best equipped to continue successfully serving the people of Pakistan,” she added.

A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Maryam Nawaz as the senior vice president of the PML-N and authorized her to “reorganize” the party at all functional levels.
Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, who is also the party’s information secretary, shared the notification issued by the party president.
“Pursuant to the powers conferred under the constitution of the PML-N, the undersigned is pleased to appoint Maryam Nawaz Sharif as senior vice president with immediate effect,” the notification said.
It further added that Maryam was “authorised to re-organie the party at all functional tiers/levels as chief organiser”.
In a tweet, the prime minister said that Maryam possessed the “drive, determination and experience to lead the party’s organisational matters”.
“I have no doubts that she will very effectively galvanise our party’s rank and file with the vision of our Quaid Nawaz Sharif,” he said.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar congratulated Maryam on her appointment and wished her the best.
Maryam, who is currently in the United Kingdom with her father Nawaz Sharif, was appointed one of the 16 vice presidents of the party on May 3, 2019.
