Nawaz Sharif’s ouster was ‘national tragedy’: Maryam

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president Maryam Nawaz said that her party is not afraid of elections and would win majority seats in Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz was addressing the public after arriving in Lahore after spending over three months in London with self-exiled leader Nawaz Sharif. A large number of party activists and leaders gathered at the Allama Iqbal airport to welcome her.

The PML-N chief organizer announced that Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan very soon. She said that the expulsion of Nawaz Sharif from the country was a “national tragedy” and the country has not recovered from it ever since.

“They ousted Nawaz Sharif from the government again and again. You brought him into power thrice but his government was toppled,” she added. “God willing, this country will move forward once again under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.”

Maryam vowed that she would not rest until her party changes the fate of the nation and steer the country out of the ongoing economic and political crises.

Maryam Nawaz expressed gratitude to Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif for reposing confidence in her. She vowed to fulfill her new responsibilities given by the party with dedication.

“Those who hatched a conspiracy against Nawaz Sharif have to pay the price for their actions,” she said. “We did not avenge those who did injustice to us, Allah brought them to their fate.”

She said the country’s situation has not been resolved ever since Nawaz Sharif was ousted in 2017.  She said that this country will once again move forward under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.

She further said that the improvement of the economy will take time and Ishaq Dar should be supported She said whenever elections are held, PML-N will win the polls.

Maryam Nawaz said that she will visit very district of the province to re-organize the party. She vowed that she will not rest until the people are rescued from their difficulties.

Maryam landed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport from Abu Dhabi after a brief delay in her flight due to a medical emergency on the plane.

She was in London since October to spend time with her father after she was acquitted in the Avenfield reference case.
