ISLAMABAD: The parents of a Pakistani girl who was arrested in India after allegedly entering the country illegally have sought the return of their daughter.

It was revealed that 20-year-old Iqra Jiwani had arrived in India illegally after meeting a young man. Mulayam Singh Yadav, through an online game.

Sources within the Federal Investigation (FIA) revealed that Iqra travelled to Nepal on October 19 last year via Dubai from Karachi airport on a foreign airline. She then entered India through the unsecured border and eventually managed to reach Banglaore with Yadav.

Indian Police arrested Mulayam Singh Yadav after being identified by the intelligence agencies along with the Pakistani girl.

FIA sources revealed that Yadav had identified himself as Muslim citizen Samir Ansari. He also made fake documents of Iqra Jiwani in the name of Rava Yadav. Pakistani student Iqra Jiwani was taken into custody by Bangalore police a few days ago.

Iqra’s gather Muhammad Sohail had informed the FIA about his daughter’s departure to India in September last year. After the arrest, he had sought his daughter’s return back to Pakistan.

The FIA has informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Interior Ministry after legal action and investigation.  The girl’s parents have contacted the Indian Embassy for the return of the girl. There are also expected to visit India soon to resolve legal complications, sources revealed.

Indian media has also reported that a teenage Pakistani girl has been arrested for living illegally in Bangalore by making fake documents.

Indian police took Iqra Jiwani into custody and handed her over to the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO), after which she was remanded to a state home for women.

Police said she is married to Mulayam Singh Yadav, a 25-year-old security guard from Uttar Pradesh, whom she met through a gaming app and decided to get married.

The girl came to Nepal a few months ago and then came to India crossing the India-Nepal border and reached Bihar.

Yadav brought Iqra to Bangalore where they rented a house. He even got an Aadhaar card made for her after changing her name to Rava Yadav, mentioning her as his wife, and later she even applied for an Indian passport.

Her identity came to light when the Intelligence Bureau tracked Iqra Jeevani’s trail, as she reportedly tried to contact her family members back in Pakistan.
