ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI will approach the court against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision in contempt case.
In his Twitter message, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that the Election Commission’s decision to issue a bailable warrant is an insult to the High Court’s decision.

He said that the date of hearing of the case in the Election Commission was January 17, the Election Commission changed the date overnight and gave a decision today against the rules. He said this is another biased decision of the Election Commission.
Fawad Chaudhry further said that the Election Commission’s warrant has no legal status, and he will go to court against this decision and file a contempt of court case.
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued bail-able arrest warrants for PTI leaders and Chief Imran Khan in contempt of the electoral body case.
Arrest warrants are being issued for Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry along with the PTI Chief. The commission has also rejected the plea for exemption from appearance in court.
A four-member bench of the ECP has announced the reserved verdict on the plea filed for exemption in the contempt case against the PTI leaders and Imran Khan.
