KARACHI: Minister for Poverty Alleviation Shazia Marri inaugurated Benazir Nashonuma Centre in Karachi.

The centre has been set up under Benazir Income Support Programme office at Pir Ilahi Bux Colony.

Speaking to media on the occasion, she said under the programme, healthy food will be provided to mother and child to address the issue of stunted growth of the children.

Shazia Marri said at present, this facility is available in 139 districts which will be further expanded across the country.

The federal minister said the federal government has not ignored any province. She said they are contacting every provincial government and Sindh government was cooperating with them.

She said the Sindh government also cooperated when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced Rs25,000 each under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) for deserving families.
