ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad has registered 22 new cases of Covid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours while two patients lost their lives.
According to the statistics issued by NIH , a total 22 new cases of Corona have been reported across the country in the last 24 hours.
During the last 24 hours, 5,126 corona tests have been conducted, according to which the rate of positive cases of the corona was 0.43 percent.
However, two patients lost their lives due to the coronavirus and currently, 14 patients infected with coronavirus are in critical condition across the country.
On the other hand, the new variant of Corona has raised the alarm in Pakistan.
The cases of new variant XBB and XBB 1 of Corona have started being reported in Karachi.
The Sindh Health Department has informed that six cases of the new variant of Corona have been reported in Karachi, which has been confirmed in the Aga Khan Laboratory.
Sindh Health Department said that three cases were reported in DHA, one in Shadman, one in Tariq Road, and one unknown area of Karachi.
Earlier, NIH said that no case of Omicron’s sub-variant BF.7 was detected in Pakistan so far.
According to the spokesperson of the NIH, since its appearance, a total of 29 cases of XBB (Omicron) have been reported from Pakistan and made it clear that this is not the BF.7 variant which is spread in the neighboring country.
