BANNU: Police foiled a terror attack on a picket in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, reported BOL News.
As per details, a group of armed terrorists attacked the police picket in Bannu and the prompt response from the police forced them to flee after a heavy exchange of fire.
Bannu policemen remained safe in the exchange of fire however, the insurgents managed to escape due to the prompt response shown by the force.
Earlier, a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in JaniKhel area of Bannu District in KP on January 23.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said sepoy Gul Sher was martyred in the explosion. The 24-year-old soldier belonged to the Khyber district.
The military’s press wing said the operation against terrorists in Janikhel area is ongoing. It added that sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists.
